Ever wondered why some goals are easy to achieve and others just seem interminable or failures altogether? What do easily attainable goals have in common?

Have you ever held a "biggest loser" contest only to find that everyone returns to previous habits (and weight) after the contest is over?

You can jumpstart your healthy living one goal at a time. Start with one thing, like water. You should drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily. So, if you weigh 150 pounds, you would need to consume 75 oz. of water daily. Soda, tea, coffee and other beverages with water in them do not count. Most of them actually dehydrate your body. Coffee for example takes out two times the volume of water you consume in coffee. So if you drink one cup of coffee daily you need to consume an extra two cups of water.

Have you ever thought about how much it costs to be overweight? Every pound you add to your frame costs money and not just in weight gain, but in lost productivity, fuel consumption, reduced wages, etc. George Washington University did a study that found the average cost of obesity for women was about $5,000 more annually. While men only had half the cost, both were a marked (at least five fold) increase over the costs of merely being overweight.
